From Memory to Monument: Building a Vietnamese Diaspora Memorial in Boston

Artist and cultural organizer Ngoc-Tran Vu '06 will share the story of 1975: A Vietnamese Diaspora Memorial, a community-driven effort to create a permanent public memorial in Boston’s Little Saigon Cultural District.

The conversation will explore the project’s development through storytelling, public art, community engagement, and civic partnership, as well as the larger question of whose histories are represented in public space.

Alums will also learn meaningful ways to support the project, including amplifying its story and ways to help bring the memorial to life.
